In September 2024, Rosie was part of Colèchi's You Can Knit With Us (YKWU) in East London. YKWU is a design collective and 6 week programme for young emerging knitwear designers. Working as a team, the designers had the opportunity to produce a collection from concept to finish; connect with the different sections of the knitwear supply chain, from suppliers to manufacturers and designers. With the chance to showcase their creations at Colèchi’s annual Clean Fashion Summit at Somerset House on 14th November 2024.
Rosie, alongside teammates Aniyah, Judah and Maddie, aided in the design and finishing the 'Mudlarker Vest', inspired by the Thames foreshore. Sections of rope chain and netting, so iconic to the dock areas, have been referenced in the stitch selection and embellishment on the vest itself. Its modular, adjustable design means that the wearer can shorten the vest or remove its sleeves to avoid getting it wet in the river. The vest can even fold upwards to form a large pocket to stash river finds in. Useful belt loops and knitted cord can hold mudlarking essentials, like trowels and brushes.
The Mudlarker Vest was knitted in 100% alpaca wool by EKO ALPAKA on their farm in Exmoor. The Vest has its own Digital Product Passport.
