This is a replica of a medicine bottle made from wire and embroidered textiles. It explores how handcraft can elevate a seemingly mundane, mass-produced item into something unique and full of character. The intention of this project (soon halted by the pandemic) was to respond to a collection of household belongings that related to a particular loved one for a specific reason. In the case of this bottle of traditional Chinese medicine, it was linked to Rosie's dad, who used it most evenings and the distinct smell and interesting packaging stuck in her memory.
30cm x 50cm.
